all the members wrote worldwide hits, in the beginging Freddie wrote the most, while Roger and John were on a "song per album" base, but later on things changed, and finally in 1989 they decided to sign all the songs as "Queen"
The Band will also be remebered with their fantastic live shows, mainly because of the great way Freddie had with the audience.

History:
Formed 1971 (John Deacon joined)
Got their name in april 1970, when Freddie, Brian and Roger changed from "Smile" to "Queen"
Their debut album was "Queen", released mid 1973, followed by "Queen II" in march 1974. The later one had "Seven Seas of Rhye" which was their first chart entry. "Killer Queen" from their third album "Sheer Heart Attack" (1974) was a greater succes going N02 in UK.
But nothing could be meassured up to the phenomenal succes of "Bohemian Rhapsody" from "A Night At The Opera"(1975). It keept N01 for 9 weeks in the UK, and hit the charts worldwide.
The band will after that continue with "A Day At The Races"(1976), containg "Somebody To Love", "News of the World "(1977) with "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions".
"JAZZ" (1978) was their first album recorded in Montrux (Swiss).
After that they decided to take a little break and publish their first live ablum: "Live Killers "(1979)
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was released way ahead of the "The Game" (1980) album witch was a world wide best seller, especially in the US, breakinh ground with "Another One Bites The Dust" witch was #1 in rock, disco and soul charts.
Flash Gordon (1980) - was their first movie venture, when they were the first band to do a full movie score.
Greatest Hits (1981) was an EMI compilation witch has spent 449 weeks in the UK Chart.
Hot Space (1982) was a bit of a weaker album, but featured the co-operation with David Bowie "Under Pressure"
The later albums are often viewed as the "grown stage" of Queen, including "The Works" (1984), "A Kind of Magic" (1986), "The Miracle"(1989) and "Innuendo" (1991). All of these albums had great hits such as "Radio Ga Ga", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "The Miracle", "The Invisible Man","Breakthru", "Innuendo", "The Show Must Go On"...
The band also issued another live album titled: "Live Magic" (1986)

The band stoped working after Freddie died in 1991. Very memorable was teh "Freddie Mercury Tribute concert" held 20th April 1992, which collected many great artists singing Queen songs with the rest of the band.
Their final album was out in 1995 "Made in Heaven" which was created out of the last recorings that Freddie made, and some of the solo work of the members.
The band members have performed on some charity concerts, and similar appearances. John Deacon however decided to retire from music.

in 2005 a tour with Paul Rodgers as a singer started off.
